The coast of Wales is an important part of our national story and identity. Welsh lives have always been influenced by the sea that surrounds a large part of our nation.
It’s a story that Matthew Yeomans explores in his new book, Seascapes. Walking along sections of the Wales Coast Path – from the Severn to the Dee estuaries – he uncovers how the sea has shaped us through history, mythology, literature and culture. He also challenges us to face the realities of rising sea levels and how we will have to adapt where and how we live alongside the sea in future.
Join Matthew for a session that celebrates both the joys and challenges of the Welsh coast and its communities: from saints to pirates; artists and poets to industrial might; reclaimed to lost land and more.
