Writers’ Workshop #1: Writing Body and Mind

with JJ Lambert

Date:  Saturday 7th June 2025

Venue:  Montgomery Activity Centre

Time:  2.30-3.30pm

Tickets:  FREE (see details below)

How do we write about body and mind? And how do our physical and emotional experiences feed into our writing?

Join writer JJ Lambert of the University of Aberystwyth Centre for Creativity and Wellbeing for a practical workshop that considers how the interaction of our emotions and our bodies can lead to more effective storytelling. There will be some simple writing exercises and discussion. The workshop will focus on the feeling of joy, but the techniques used will also be applicable to other emotional responses.

There is no need to be an experienced writer; just bring along a notepad or laptop, and your wonderful, individual body.

This free session is funded by the University of Aberystwyth Centre for Creativity and Wellbeing. The 15 places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

JJ Lambert lives in Carmarthenshire between the Brecon Beacons and the Elenydd. Her first novel, Found Wanting, was published by Black Bee Books in June 2024 and longlisted for the Mslexia Children’s and Young Adult Prize. She co-facilitates the Sit Down and Write online writing group for marginalised Welsh writers and is currently researching the narration of Twm Sîon Cati and the Elenydd.
