It’s here!
Monty Lit Fest 2024 takes place this weekend, 7th-9th June, in the beautiful town of Montgomery. It’s the chance to meet and hear from authors about their books and their work, have a go yourself at our writers’ workshops or just join us for a pint at our Late Lounge or Saturday night quiz.
There’s still time to plan your weekend – but hurry; tickets are selling fast. Take a look at our programme here.
So, what will you choose?
- Will you join M Wynn Thomas, Sioned Webb and the Penybontfawr Male Voice Choir as we explore – and sing – some of Wales’s greatest hymns?
- Or relive the 1990s and Cool Cymru with author Neil Collins and Welsh music legend, Rhys Mwyn at our Late Lounge.
- Hear the inside story of Wrexham FC’s Hollywood-inspired renaissance – a perfect accompaniment to the TV series?
- Or find out what 100 everyday objects can tell us about our rural past with Sally Coulthard.
- Meet top fiction authors Simon Chandler, Tim Pears, Siân Hughes, Chris Lloyd and Myfanwy Alexander.
- Get spooked as Delyth Badder tells us all about Wales’s wealth of ghost stories.
- Pit your wits against quizmaster Marcus Berkmann at that Saturday night quiz.
- Debate the future of farming and nature with Adam Bedford in conversation with Carwyn Graves and Roger Morgan-Grenville.
- Chart the Welsh origins of the Tudor dynasty and discover what happened when 200 kindertransport children arrived at Gwrych Castle in the 1940s.
- Or hone your craft at our two writers’ workshops.
And while you’re with us, make sure you visit our art exhibition, listen to some music and readings and enjoy the food and drink that will be on offer all weekend.
Welcome to Monty Lit Fest 2024.
Tickets are available online, in person at The Bookshop and Ivy House Cafe, Montgomery and, over the weekend itself, at the Festival’s ticket desk in Montgomery Town Hall.
