If, as received wisdom would suggest, it takes a village to raise a child, then it takes all of the communities of Montgomeryshire and the Borders – and beyond – to raise a Monty Lit Fest.<\/p>\n

This is something we never take for granted. Just as publishing itself is an inherently collaborative business with so many people supporting authors along the way, running a literary festival is a true community affair.<\/p>\n

As we count down to our 2023 weekend, there are so many people to whom we have to say “we couldn’t do it without you”.<\/p>\n

We couldn’t do it without<\/em> our funders and sponsors, whose generosity helps us to offer such a wide-ranging programme and keep ticket prices down. So a huge thank you to: Charlies; David and Luned Corser; Brian and Pamela Eaves; EvaBuild; FieldMouse Research; Harrisons; Literature Wales; the Mayor of Montgomery; Montgomery Vineyard; Monty Movie Club; Monty’s Brewery; NPTC; Philip Humphreys Architects; Ponthafren; Tanat Valley Coaches; The Bookshop, Montgomery; Whitehall Dairy and WPG<\/p>\n

We couldn’t do it without<\/em> our authors who are prepared to give us a go, whether they’re local or travelling big distances to be with us and share their stories.<\/p>\n

We couldn’t do it without<\/em> the good people of Montgomery who provide such a welcoming home for the Festival and so much practical support: from the community events<\/a> that will create such a buzz over the weekend to the logistics of venues and parking and so much more – including, of course, the now-famous cake in the Town Hall itself.<\/p>\n

We couldn’t do it without<\/em> our Festival booksellers, Booka<\/a> and The Bookshop, Montgomery \u2013 and all the other booksellers across our region who are such an important part of our communities of words.<\/span><\/p>\n

We couldn’t do it without<\/em> our committee of volunteers who plan, promote and champion what we do.<\/p>\n

And we couldn’t do it without<\/em> everyone who has bought a ticket, will buy a ticket or will just turn up on the day.<\/p>\n
