Many of us will know Tom Heap from his investigative work on food, energy and the environment for BBC\u2019s Countryfile<\/em> and elsewhere.<\/p>

In his book, Landsmart<\/em>, he brings this thinking together to explore how we can we get more from our land to meet our growing need for food, renewable energy, carbon storage and housing.

Join Tom as he tours the British countryside showcasing the innovative farmers whose yields feed four times the global average, the soil scientists upending the limits to crop growth, and the conservationists and industry leaders salvaging habitat, harnessing solar and radically reimagining land use to provide a hopeful blueprint for a better future.<\/p>

Tom Heap <\/strong>is a regular presenter on BBC1’s Countryfile<\/em>, specializing in the more investigative films, and has made many BBC Panorama documentaries on food, energy and the environment. Tom is also the presenter of Radio 4’s Rare Earth <\/em>series and the anchor of The Climate Show<\/em> on Sky News. He was the creator and presenter of BBC Radio’s flagship climate change podcast 39 Ways to Save the Planet<\/em> and is the author of Landsmart: A Practical Guide to Transforming Our Countryside<\/em>.<\/p>

Adam Bedford\u00a0<\/strong>has studied and worked in and around agriculture for the past 20 years. In his day job he develops projects in the gap between farmers and scientists to boost sustainable agriculture. He is the Founder of the Fieldwork Book Club, an online book club for books on food, farming and the natural world.
