Writers Bethany Handley, Taz Rahman and Kandace Siobhan Walker join Sairah Ahsan from the University of Aberystwyth\u2019s Centre for Creativity and Wellbeing to talk about their nature writing.<\/p>

Drawing from their vast range of experiences, they give a fresh perspective on this ever-popular genre, exploring in a panel discussion the literary traditions that have influenced their writing and offering advice on how to innovate in such a well-established area of writing and publishing. The session will conclude with a Q&A for all attendees.<\/p>

This free session is funded by the University of Aberystwyth Centre for Creativity and Wellbeing. It will take place online, but please register by clicking the link below so that we can send you the joining details.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Sairah Ahsan<\/strong> is a writer, scientist and researcher living on the Welsh coast. She is currently working on a novel about the places that we imagine and the homes which fall short. Her work has found a home with Extra Teeth, Nawr, Poetry Wales, Lucent Dreaming<\/em>, and Ink Sweat & Tears<\/em> under the alias Rakyah Assam.<\/p>

Bethany Handley<\/strong> is an award-winning writer, poet and disability activist from Monmouthshire. Named one of the UK\u2019s ten most influential disabled people in politics, law, and media 2024 by the Shaw Trust, she campaigns for disability rights and better access to nature. An ambassador for Country Living\u2019s Access for All, Wales Coast Path, and Ramblers Cymru, her debut poetry pamphlet\u00a0Cling Film<\/em>\u00a0was published by Seren in 2025. She co-edited\u00a0Beyond\/Tu Hwnt<\/em>, an anthology of Welsh Deaf and disabled writers. Her work has been featured by\u00a0the Poetry Foundation<\/em>,\u00a0Poetry Wales<\/em>, BBC Radio 4,\u00a0Country Living a<\/em>nd more.<\/p>

Taz Rahman<\/strong> is a Cardiff based poet, writer\u00a0and literary content creator.\u00a0His debut poetry collection East of the Sun, West of the Moon<\/em>, published by Seren Books, was longlisted for the Laurel Prize. He was also shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature\u2019s Jerwood Poetry Prize 2024. He is the founder of Wales\u2019s first YouTube poetry channel, Just Another Poet<\/em>.<\/p>

Kandace Siobhan Walker<\/strong> is a writer and artist of Jamaican-Canadian, Saltwater Geechee and Welsh heritage. She is the author of two books of poetry\u00a0Kaleido<\/em>\u00a0(Bad Betty Press, 2022) and\u00a0Cowboy<\/em>\u00a0(CHEERIO, 2023). Her installation\u00a0Dreamerism<\/em>\u00a0(2024) appeared in Jerwood Arts\u2019 nationally-touring group exhibition\u00a0Survey III<\/em>. She lives in London.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
