The Wars of the Roses and rise of the Tudor dynasty remain an enduringly fascinating period of British history. Are you a Yorkist or a Lancastrian? Did Richard III kill the princes in the Tower \u2013 or is that just a fabrication of canny Tudor propogandists? And just who was that \u201cunknown Welshman,\u201d Henry Tudor, who emerged victorious as Henry VII?<\/p>

Historian Nathen Amin has been charting the Welsh origins of the Tudors for over a decade. In his latest book, The Son of Prophecy<\/em>, he reminds us that it’s often overlooked that the Tudors had their origins in rural Wales. And while Henry Tudor might have been unknown in the halls of English power, in Wales he had long been championed as the Son of Prophecy, a national messiah who would free his oppressed people from their misery.<\/p>

Hear from Nathen as he explores how \u2013 from Penmynydd to Bosworth – one redoubtable Welsh family thrived during lean years of political chaos, national instability, and inter-generational bloodshed to leave behind a complex legacy that changed the face of England and Wales forever.<\/p>

Nathen Amin<\/strong> is an author from Carmarthenshire, West Wales, who focuses on the 15th Century and the reign of Henry VII. He wrote Tudor Wales<\/em> in 2014, followed by the first full-length biography of the Beaufort family, The House of Beaufort<\/em> in 2017 and Henry VII and the Tudor Pretenders; Simnel, Warbeck and Warwick <\/em>in 2021. <\/em>His latest book, The Son of Prophecy: The Rise of Henry Tudor <\/em>will be published in summer 2024. He is a trustee and founding member of the Henry Tudor Trust and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
