We\u2019re delighted to welcome to Monty Lit Fest award-winning novelist, Tim Pears, known for his beautifully crafted prose that often evokes a remarkable sense of place and time.<\/p>

Nor is Tim a stranger to Wales and the Borders. His latest book, Run to the Western Shore<\/em>, takes us to Britain in AD 72, where a young Roman slave and the hostaged daughter of a Celtic tribal leader\u2019s daughter flee across the country to the western shore.<\/p>

Hear from Tim as he tells us about his writing life and why he has chosen to return to Wales to tell a story that immerses us in lost landscapes, ancestries under threat and love at a time of conflict and change.<\/p>

Tim Pears <\/strong>is a prize-winning and critically acclaimed writer. His debut novel, In Place of Fallen Leaves <\/em>was awarded the Hawthornden Prize and the Ruth Hadden Memorial Award. His second novel, In a Land of Plenty<\/em>, was made into a ten-part drama series for the BBC. Other novels include A Revolution of the Sun<\/em>, Wake Up<\/em>, Blenheim Orchard<\/em>, Landed <\/em>and Disputed Land, <\/em>his West Country Trilogy<\/em>, set before, during and after the First World War, and 2023\u2019s Run to the Western Shore.\u00a0 <\/em>He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and lives in Oxford.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
