Food is big business, whether we\u2019re running a restaurant, sourcing local ingredients or just enjoying the fruits of a chef\u2019s labours. But, in the era where everyone can share their views of the food they\u2019ve eaten, how do we know where we can find the best food? Whose opinion can we trust?\u00a0 That\u2019s where the work of food critics and writers comes in, the people skilled in crafting reliable reviews that are published in places that give those opinions credibility, like taste.blas<\/em>, the magazine and website dedicated to great Welsh food and drink.<\/p>

This hands-on workshop session for aspiring food writers is run by taste.blas<\/em> regulars, Jon Gower and Myfanwy Alexander.\u00a0 Participants will choose from The Dragon Hotel\u2019s Sunday lunch menu, tucking in while they\u2019re guided through the process of writing an impactful review \u2013 and then having a go themselves. The best review will be published in taste.blas<\/em> itself.<\/p>

Spaces are limited so look out your best bib and tucker and book your ticket now.\u00a0 Sunday lunch is provided by The Dragon Hotel and not included within the ticket price.\u00a0 Payment can be made on the day and costs \u00a313.95 for 1 course, \u00a318.95 for 2 courses or \u00a323.95 for three courses.<\/p>

Myfanwy Alexander<\/strong> is the author of four novels following the adventures of Inspector Daf Dafis of Dyfed Powys Police.\u00a0 Best sellers in Welsh, two have been published in English. In 2020, Bloody Eisteddfod<\/em> was adapted for radio and broadcast on Radio 4, Radio Cymru and Radio Wales.\u00a0 Myfanwy\u2019s popular Radio Wales satire series, The LL Files,<\/em> ran for 13 series and won her a Sony Comedy Award.\u00a0 She has contributed to many radio programmes on various stations, including Radio 4\u2019s Pick of the Week<\/em>, Round Britain Quiz<\/em> and PM<\/em>, and has also written for TV, including BBC Wales Teach Yourself to Be Welsh<\/em>; the sketch show series Large<\/em>, and the S4C film T\u00e2n a Th\u00e2n<\/em>.<\/p>

Jon Gower<\/strong>\u00a0has over forty books to his name, in Welsh and English, including\u00a0The Story of Wales<\/em>\u00a0which accompanied the landmark BBC series,\u00a0An Island Called Smith<\/em>\u00a0which gained the John Morgan Travel Writing Award, and\u00a0Y Stor\u00efwr<\/em>\u00a0which won the Wales Book of the Year award.\u00a0\u00a0He is a former BBC Wales arts and media correspondent and was for many years the presenter of Radio Wales\u2019 arts\u2019 programme\u00a0First Hand<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0His next books will be\u00a0Y Diwedd<\/em>, which completes his Welsh language crime trilogy, to be published in September and\u00a0The Turning Tide: A Biography of the Irish Sea,\u00a0<\/em>due out from Harper North in February 2023.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
