Writing for the radio is a unique skill. In many ways, it can be challenging to draw convincing pictures in voice only. But it can also be incredibly liberating, allowing writers to tackle subjects and imagine worlds from the confines of a simple studio.<\/p>

Join author, producer and former Radio 4 commissioner, Sioned Wiliam, and Sony Award-winning Myfanwy Alexander, as they share their tips for what makes a good listen. In a practical, hands-on workshop, they\u2019ll explore the skills needed to draw those pictures and craft writing that\u2019s tailor-made for a very singular medium.<\/p>

Myfanwy Alexander<\/strong> is the author of four novels following the adventures of Inspector Daf Dafis of Dyfed Powys Police.\u00a0 Best sellers in Welsh, two have been published in English. In 2020, Bloody Eisteddfod<\/em> was adapted for radio and broadcast on Radio 4, Radio Cymru and Radio Wales.\u00a0 Myfanwy\u2019s popular Radio Wales satire series, The LL Files,<\/em> ran for 13 series and won her a Sony Comedy Award.\u00a0 She has contributed to many radio programmes on various stations, including Radio 4\u2019s Pick of the Week<\/em>, Round Britain Quiz<\/em> and PM<\/em>, and has also written for TV, including BBC Wales Teach Yourself to Be Welsh<\/em>; the sketch show series Large<\/em>, and the S4C film T\u00e2n a Th\u00e2n<\/em>.<\/p>

Sioned Wiliam<\/strong> comes from Barry. She is the author of the novels, Dal i Fynd<\/em>, Chwynnu <\/em>and Cicio\u2019r Bar<\/em> and has a fourth book Y Gwyliau<\/em> coming out this Autumn. Sioned began her television and radio career at the BBC, before becoming an independent producer. Her credits include Tonight with Jonathan Ross, Game On, Big Train and Yonderland<\/em>. She also produced iDot <\/em>and exec produced Rhestr Nadolig Wil for Boom\/S4C<\/em>. She has been nominated for a Bafta award three times and won a British Comedy Award and a Bronze Rose at Montreux for BIG TRAIN in 1999. She has also worked as a Commissioning Editor for ITV and BBC Radio 4.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
