Monty Lit Fest – Gŵyl Llên Maldwyn was founded in 2018 by Myfanwy Alexander, Simon Baynes, and Amanda Jenner.
The inaugural festival was held on 9th June 2018, in the grounds of Bodfach Hall, Llanfyllin.
From its initial conception, it was hoped that the festival would move to a new venue each year, in order to celebrate the written word across the whole of Montgomeryshire, and in 2019 the festival was held on 14th – 16th June at Gregynog Hall, near Newtown.
2019 marked not only the expansion of the festival from a one-day event to a full weekend, but also the founding of the Montgomeryshire Literary Festival Trust.
In 2020, Monty Lit Fest – Gŵyl Llên Maldwyn will be held on 12th – 14th June in the beautiful and historic market town of Montgomery. We can’t wait to welcome you, and all our speakers, to the town for a weekend of literary delights!
