Eloise Williams grew up in South Wales where she spent her time playing in the ruins of a castle and searching for Narnia. She odd-jobbed her way through college then worked for ten years as an actor, bartender, teacher, barista and elf, before studying for an MA in Creative Writing. Now a successful author, she also teaches creative writing and encourages everyone to believe they are made of stories. Eloise’s middle grade novels have won the Wales Arts Review Young People’s Book of the Year, the YBB Book Award, the Wolverhampton Children’s Book Award and have been shortlisted for the Wales Book of the Year Award, the Tir na nOg Awards and the NE Book Awards. She was the inaugural Children’s Laureate Wales 2019-21.
Matt Brown is a broadcaster and author of seven books for kids that have been sold all over the world: four Compton Valance and three Dreary Inkling School books. In 2020, Mutant Zombies Cursed My School Trip won the FCBG Children’s Book Award, the only national book award voted for entirely by children. Before he became an author, Matt presented on some of the UKs most popular TV shows, including Nickelodeon, The Big Breakfast, and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! He has also hosted radio shows on Capital, Heart FM and Magic, and made a variety of documentaries for BBC Radio. Matt writes books with his two sausage dogs sitting at his feet (and maybe some liquorice close by, too).
