Bookshops

Visitors to Monty Lit Fest have two local booksellers to choose from:

Oswestry’s Booka Bookshop runs a pop-up bookshop with author signings at Montgomery Town Hall during the event.

Montgomery is also home to The Montgomery Bookshop, staunch supporters of the Festival in the local community.

About Monty Lit Fest

Monty Lit Fest is organised by the Montgomeryshire Literary Festival Trust.

Founded in 2018 by Myfanwy Alexander, Simon Baynes and Amanda Jenner, the Festival has already developed a reputation for attracting top literary talent.

One of our key aims is to showcase writers who live in, write about and are passionate about Wales and the Welsh Borders and the diverse range of subjects and topics that matter locally. But, more than anything, we want to help connect writers with their readers.

We are committed to programmes that celebrate a diverse range of writing and appeal to a wide range of audiences. Our Summer weekend Festivals take place in the historic town of Montgomery. We also plan to run one day Winter Festivals in a variety of venues across Montgomeryshire to make sure we’re reaching as many book-lovers as possible across our region.

The Festival’s trustees are all volunteers, supported by a wider committee who help to organise and run our events each year.

Visiting Montgomery

The historic town of Montgomery lies in the Welsh Marches, ideally placed for visitors from all directions.

The Summer Festival is centred around Montgomery’s Town Hall, together with a range of other venues throughout the town.

For more information about local accommodation, where to eat and drink and the many other things Montgomery and Montgomeryshire have to offer, take a look at the Montgomery Wales, Visit Mid Wales and Visit Wales websites.

Press

We want to work closely with local press partners to spread the word about Monty Lit Fest far and wide.
